- In Price we Trust?: The amount that Connecticut depends on AJ Price is not sustainable. Late in the game, he really willed the team to victory. It was clear that he was the only UConn player with enough confidence to win the game. UConn needs another player to step up, at least in terms of confidence, if not in terms of skill.
- Gonzaga’s game to lose: Gonzaga ought to have won that game. I came away quite impressed — Pargo, Gray, and especially Daye are serious talents. It’s damn impressive that Gonzaga has gone from a mid-major team to a possible “program”. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain the tradition.
- Fouling out: While there was constant focus by the announcing crew on Thabeet’s foul trouble and Calhoun’s decisions to play him or not there was little talk about how Mark Few let one big man after another foul out. That was a large part of UConn’s victory.
- Gavin Edwards’ mom: I would bet that his mom is/was totally hot. Just a hunch.

Agreed. Was overly impressed with Gonzaga and the depth of their talent. They actually look like a program now rather than one great player and a bunch of role players, much like this year’s Davidson.
I thought UConn played well, and I would’ve thought so even if they lost. Three point shooting is still a weakness, but that’s this team. Thank goodness for the Huskies that they have Price, he is a tremendous leader.
Give credit where credit is due: Pomeroy had Gonzaga #2 before the game, UConn #7. They’re #6 and #3, respectively, by Sagarin’s ratings today. This was a solid road victory for UConn and the Big East. When Gonzaga goes 29-2 (or some such) through into March, half of the Big East’s NCAA seedings will have been positively affected in Seattle.
Connecticut has been good at “secondary offense” for some time, and its games when you are outshot 54% to 42% from the field (in regulation) that secondary offense matters. 38 FT attempts to 20. 7 for 14 from behind the arc (thank you Mr. Price). Collecting 31% of available offensive rebounds while holding Gonzaga to only 16%. Avoiding turnovers–16 is a comfortable number for the Huskies. Despite Gonzaga’s huge field goal advantage, Price sent it to OT and they won. Very impressive.
I guess what you guys are telling me is not to be such a spoiled brat and just be happy with UConn. You guys are right — I realize that “Emeka Okfaor ain’t waking thorugh that door.”
What did impress me was how Calhoun outcoached Few. Few should have never had a situation where big man after big man fouled out.
