Worst call of the year

February 12, 2008 12:11 pm by donald

There’s nothing I can say that would add to what Jay Bilas said (as usual).

Great use of the press by Jay Wright, though. Villanova almost always seems to play Georgetown tight because of this.

(Editor’s note: I retract my original love for ESPN. You’ll notice that if you go to this page, there is no embed text, so it seems like you can’t put it in your blog. If you look at other game highlights, you’ll notice the same thing. But, if you go to one of their videos with some fucktards (excluding Jay Bilas, of course) wanking it around a table discussing “bracketology” — well, of course then you can embed the video. Dumb.)

I agree. One of the worst calls I have ever seen. Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible.

If you’re Gtown, you know this wasn’t your fault, and you’re not going to refuse this gift-wrapped victory, but still, you’re feeling a little guilty right now. And you shouldn’t have had to. The officials should have allowed you to win the game in OT, which the Hoyas certainly were capable of doing.

Seeing that Nova had three bigs already fouled out, I think GTowns chances in OT were pretty good. John Cahill, you should be ashamed of yourself!
Not as bad as the Tenessee women’s win over Rutgers though. It seems that during play the clock was stopped with 2 tenths of a second left and Rutgers up one. Then while the clock was stopped, a foul was called giving UT two free throws and a very shaky win. Home cookin at its best!

Yeah, odd that they occurred within minutes of each other.

Yeah, Coach O — I saw that, too. I like that Coach Stringer on Rutgers. Her quote about getting upset: “If this was an NCAA game, I’d probably have lost my job already.”
