I agree with your point (3). This league can be absolutely frustrating to anybody looking for order. Just look at the past few days: Seton Hall gets a win against Louisville (whaaat?), UConn demolishes Marquette, Georgetown gets demolished by Pitt, Georgetown gets a very nice win against Notre Dame, and then of course Pitt loses to UC. At this point, UCONN is only one loss behind Marquette in overall record (but Marquette is ranked #13), and UC is tied for second in the conference but is 9-9.

The truth is -- it's just another year in the Big East.

Just watched the UC/Pitt game, a few thoughts:

1. Not suprised with the upset. UC has been rebounding really well and Pitt is coming off of a major victory against GT, might have been a letdown game.

2. UC found ways to score when Deonta Vaughn was on the bench in foul trouble. I wasn't sure who they would run the offense through early in the second half, but the frontline line of Williamson, McClain and Hrycaniuk made enough plays down the stretch to get the win.

3. I think this league will come down to who can be mentally tough enough to travel on the road and escape with wins. If you can take care of business at home, pick a few off on the road, you'll be able to do well in this league.

I agree with your assessments on all teams and would like to add a thought or two:

Since when has UConn been a zone defense team? They get killed on the perimeter by ND..... They get killed on the perimeter by Georgetown.... Now they get killed on the perimeter by PC. PC shot over 50% from 3 tonight. If they can't play defense they won't beat any team except Rutgers, St. John's and Seton Hall. They stayed in that zone tonight as PC hit shot after shot....UNGUARDED!!!! Stanley Robinson....WHERE ARE YOU???? Great game against Maine though.

Louisville, when hitting on all cylinders is a very scary team! No, Georgetown, you won't beat this team unless they have an off night.

Marquette is just not consistent enough to win this conference.

Pitt is on a high right now. Blair, along with Donte Green are bona fide stars.
