Being a Big East fan means you will go into the final weekend with MSG on the horizon knowing NOTHING is set!
I’ve been a BE fan since the beginning and have been at all but about 3 BET’s. What I do know is, as usual, the seedings are still up in the air with only one weekend left in the regular season. I don’t think there is another conference in the country where almost every seed in the tourney is still undecided. IT’S GREAT!!!!
Who is the #1 seed??? Georgetown???? Pitt???? Don’t know
Who is the #4 seed with the final bye on Wednesday???? Notre Dame???? Syracuse???? Don’t Know
Who will be the 7 seed??? or 8 seed? or 9 seed? or 10 seed? West Virginia??? DePaul??? Villanova??? Providence??? Don’t Know, Don’t Know, Don’t Know, Don’t Know.
Who is the 11 seed??? Who is 12 seed??? UConn??? St. John’s???? Don’t Know, Don’t Know.
What makes the Big East the best conference in the country? Better than the ACC or SEC or Pac-10? I think we all DO Know….
We all will be watching to answer all these questions and then sit back and enjoy the Tourney in the city next week!

It’s always this way. Here are some quick pics:
Georgetown over UConn
Villanova over Syracuse
DePaul over USF
ND over Rutgers
West Virginia over Cincinnati
Pitt over Marquette
Louisville over Seton Hall
Providence over St. John’s
In a perfect world we’d have WVU-DePaul, Nova-Providence, Syracuse-ND, etc. In some ways a lot of these matchups are anticlimactic.
Nova’s last game is absolutely huge. The rest of the 8-7 teams play bottom five opponents, so a loss might send Nova to 10th place. Despite clear superiority as measured by both modern performance measures such as ther Pomeroy ratings or outdated systems like the RPI, the committee might not be able to overlook an 8-8, 10th place conference finish (assuming they don’t win two or more BET games to help offset it).
I’m sorry, I meant Marquette over Pitt. Don’t know why I wrote that wrong earlier.
