"Syracuse will lose multiple games. They have Louisville, ND, DePaul and UConn in succession, and I expect them to drop out of the top 4."

That's right, I'm quoting myself. You see, I know what I'm talking about.

Agreement with both comments. Donald..... I dont think a team that lives almost totally by the 3 can win big games consistently. The strength of the ND offense is excellent shooting. The frontline shows power at times but Kurz is the main man and he didnt even dress for the game last night. When a team can make 30-36 free throws, including their final 24 points of the game, they stand a chance of holding off a surge by the opponent. The last Irish basket of the night came at the 10:51 mark of the second half. A 28 point lead was whittled to 10 even with this great free throw shooting. They will win some big games with this kind of shooting.

Dan'l B ....... They dont play defense very well. I agree that both Pitt and Georgetown are more athletic and MUCH better defensive squads. So to win ND must outscore its opponent. They cannot rely on big stops like the Hoyas or Panthers. In a tournament setting I feel the better defensive team will win out almost all the time.

The Irish are simply speed freaks. Pitt and Georgetown have more efficient offenses, but the obvious difference is the extra 10-12 possessions in a typical ND game. All three sport Top 10 offenses. Source
The Panthers and Hoyas also defend more efficiently...but barely. Notre Dame deserves credit at both ends of the floor. All three schools are ranked from #30-#50.

These ND scores in the high 90s/100s just seem, well, so non-Big East. What do you think...can they continue to win by just outscoring their opponents?
